Okay, I’ll grant you, it takes a special kind of mentality to consider this a life-changing discovery. Mercifully I seem to have enough friends who shared my enthusiasm not to feel entirely certifiable for my disproportionate glee!
Seriously, though, perfect poached egg in one minute with no fiddly equipment or pans to wash afterwards. What’s not to love!
- Fill the mug about ¾ full with cold water.
- Break an egg into it, place a saucer on top, and microwave on full power for roughly 60 seconds.
- You might need to tweak the timing for your microwave and preference, but… Voila! Perfect poached egg!
- …unless, of course, you manage to drop it as you’re serving it. Oops!
