One unexpected side effect of getting fit was discovering, in the process of being fitted for running and hiking shoes, I’d been wearing the wrong shoe size for most of my adult life! Once my poor cramped toes got a taste of freedom, there was no stopping them, and I actually ended up gaining another shoe size after that! All of which means I have a wardrobe of shoes that no longer fit, so I’m having a long overdue clear out…
All prices are exclusive of postage, which will be charged at cost. I’d strongly recommend Special Delivery for the insurance, but obviously that can get costly, hence leaving it up to the buyer what option they select. Please feel free to use the comments form below (or email me) if you have any questions.
- I had these custom made before Penanngalan introduced their steampunk range, so they’re totally unique. I’d say these are roughly a UK 4-4.5. £80 + UK postage
- Close-up of some damage to the tongue where two eyelets hadn’t been set properly. They’ve now been filed down and set, and a bit of leather dye would remove the marks.
- UK size 5, and such a cool pair of boots! Alas sold to me as leather, and actually a very convincing faux leather (which my stupidly sensitive skin doesn’t like) so haven’t been worn at all. £20 plus UK postage.
- Classic pair of original New Rocks! Worn enough to break them in (and establish they don’t fit me), but no more than that, so still in excellent condition. UK 4. £75 plus UK postage. (Warning – they’re damned heavy!)
- SOLD Hush Puppy riding boots. Took delivery of them at work, decided they were a good fit and chucked the box out, tried them on again at home and realised they were no such thing! Never been worn. UK 5. £45 plus UK postage.
- These say they’re a UK 6, but are more like a UK 5. Fabulous boots, but I turn into a whiny child when confronted with pointy toes, so finally accepting they’re not for me! £35 plus UK postage.
- Little bit of wear to the soles on the Victorian boots.

I’d be interested in the last, but I have a wide toe. I am an AU 7-8 which should roughly be the same size range, but if they are too narrow in the toe, I wouldn’t be able to wear them. Also not sure what the post would be.
Hello! Ooh, looking at a conversion chart, I suspect you’d run into the same trouble as me: with the narrow toe, I definitely wish I’d gone up another size.
